OURMedia Network [Red Nuestros Medios - Nos Médias - Nosso Media] is a global network of scholars and practitioners working since 2001 in the areas of alternative, community, and citizens' media. The Network has around 500 members in over 40 countries. The OURMedia Network 7th International Conference took place in Accra, Ghana from August 11-15, 2008. We are planning for the 8th International Conference in Colombia, from July 13-19, 2009.

It's been a busy series of days here in Bogotá as the MINGA Popular continues to expand and flourish. From the streets in the center of the city, to the Plaza del Ché at the National University where an international forum was held on Saturday, from the media centers of the indigenous movement to the dozens of meetings taking place around the city where "Mingueros" are discussing the five point agenda with all the sectors that are interested to listen, the enthusiasm and energy of the popular movement can be felt.
MSF launches international multimedia campaign on conflict in Congo
Hundreds of thousands of people are on the run, fleeing a war that rages in eastern Congo, in the provinces of North and South Kivu. They are frightened. Many are sick or wounded. Others have been harassed or raped, or have had everything they own stolen. The people of the Kivus are in a critical condition. The destiny of everyone in this region is shaped by the war. The story of their struggle to survive needs to be told.
This statement outlines three threats imposed on information communication technology (ICT) rights in South Korea. In addition, this statement calls for support from the Association for Progressive Communications (APC) in a bid to prevent actions that may not only see significant impact on the operations of Jinbonet and their partner organizations, but further increase the South Korean's government impositions on the rights of its citizens.
